Medical Business Management (MBM) is a full-service medical billing and claims management company specializing in anesthesia services. We serve more than 1,100 health care providers in seventeen states and the Virgin Islands. We never outsource our claims management, and 100% of all billing, coding, and claims happen within the USA. Within the last 12 months, we have billed more than 695,000 anesthesia claims.

Our History

After working as a hospital administrator for 12 years, Joe Gribbin, Sr. moved to Birmingham, Alabama, to start Medical Business Management in 1990. His hospital administration experience revealed that many anesthesia providers and hospitals were missing anesthesia revenue opportunities.

At the time, hospitals were including CRNA provider expenses in their Medicare cost reporting and neglecting their ability to improve the
anesthesia revenue by billing the providers (Part B) individually for all health insurers.

This led Gribbin, Sr. to establish an anesthesia billing and collection service, that initially focused on hospital employed CRNAs and
independently practicing CRNA groups. This was the niche to build his young company. As MBM began to grow, his hard work began to pay off. Through good referrals and relationships, the word got out about his company and the bottom-line results.

Joe Gribbin, Jr. joined Medical Business Management in 2008 with a focus on growth and expansion.

Joe, Jr. made a difference immediately by leading initiatives to modernize MBM's software and technology. He implemented processes to keep MBM on the leading edge of technology in the future. Joe, Jr.'s expertise in tech and software development positioned MBM for our next growth phase.

In 2018, Medical Business Management acquired a practice in Florence, Alabama, giving us a second office and additional access to anesthesia billing and coding experts.

MBM serves anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and hospitals. We have been helping anesthesia providers increase their revenue for over 30 years, and we take pride in the accuracy, efficiency, and results of our service.
